Shimomura Nobel Laureate Memorial Center for Drug Discovery (following Shimomura Center) started to support education and reserach for drug discovery of undergraduate and graduatded students, and young scientists In Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Nagasaki University from 2010.

The future activity of graduate who received professional training mainly on the drug discovery science in the Deparment of Pharmaceutical Sciences is expected by establishment of 2 departments in April, 2006. Therefore, Shimomua Center started to prompte research activities and international exchange activity about the drug discovery, and incubate various activity mainly composed of a lecture and workshops to promote to raise added value of a student through the advanced education of drug discovery and to support smoothe finding employment.

Shimomura Center plan the invitation such as a drug industry person playing an active part or well-known domestic and foreign drug discovery researchers of as a lecturer regularly and the aim of cultivating practical skills and internationality and encouraging the talented person to carry future drug discovery science on.
